The engine is in a Simplicity Landlord riding lawnmower. Total hours is 282. Well maintained. Both Spark plugs were fouled I cleaned and put back. The Engine Oil is dirtier now than when I started today. I cleaned the air filter and pre clean filter.
SOUNDS LIKE HEAD GASKET

Don’t think us stupid with efficient V-8, V-6 Merc engine
Now Daimler is launching its next generation of V-6 and V-8 engines, which are both more powerful and more efficient than the engines they replace. So how does Mercedes get both power and efficiency out of its upgraded engines? Direct injection, for one. The new twin-turbo V-8’s forced induction also adds a bump to both performance and economy, while the V-6 sheds its 90-degree layout for a new 60-degree V. Multiple injection and multiple ignitions also help improve the thermal efficiency of the engines. But the real trick up Mercedes’ sleeve is stop-start.
These are just two manifestations of M-B’s next engine generation, which is not a from-scratch effort, but rather an extension of the current V-6 and V-8 engine family. Future variations will include turbocharged V-6 engines and variants with different power levels.
Mercedes has also added ancillary units to the engines that include the water pump, oil pump and fuel pump. These units consume less of the engine’s power. Also provided are the intelligent generator management systems for both motors.
Both the new V6 and the new V8 from Mercedes-Benz have aluminium crankcases, pistons and cylinder heads. The crankshaft, connecting rods and valves are of special forged steel. Lightweight construction techniques and detailed improvements have also reduced in-engine friction considerably compared to the previous engine. With its new-generation V-engines, Mercedes-Benz is clearly demonstrating that with concerted further development, internal combustion engines still have a great deal of potential, and that V6 and V8 engines with their high level of refinement are fit for the future.
